Windows Keyboard Shortcuts

Whether we like it or not, the keyboard is still an important component of modern computer systems.  Used in conjunction with the mouse you can really complete tasks efficiently and quickly.  Here are a list of Windows shortcuts we use all the time:
  • F1: Help
  • CTRL+ESC: Open Start menu
  • ALT+TAB: Switch between open programs
  • ALT+F4: Quit program
  • SHIFT+DELETE: Delete item permanently
  • Windows Logo+L: Lock the computer (quicker than CTRL+ALT+DELETE)
  • F2: Rename object
  • F3: Find all files
  • CTRL+X: Cut
  • CTRL+C: Copy
  • CTRL+V: Paste
  • SHIFT+DELETE: Delete selection immediately bypassing the Recycle Bin
  • ALT+ENTER: Open the properties for the selected object
